Position title: Regional Director

Position type:  Volunteer

Number of positions available: 7 (NE, Mid-Atlantic, SE, Mid-West, South Mid-West, NW, and SW)

Term limit:  2-year term and may be re-elected for 2 consecutive terms. Terms shall start in January and end in December.

Eligibility:  Candidate has been a member of the National Task Force on Hepatitis B for at least one year.

Time commitment:  up to 2 hours each month; this includes the general call with all task force members.  Note that there are no general call meetings in May, July, or August. There is usually one annual in-person meeting; location TBD.

Position description:  The Regional Director represents their region to coordinate communication among regional stakeholders interested in state-level viral hepatitis elimination plans. Regional Directors also assist in recruiting primary care providers and mid-level practitioners in HBV CME / CE opportunities to promote HBV care management resources.

In addition, Regional Directors are responsible for building and expanding local resources for general Task Force members. There shall be up to 7, but not fewer than 4 Regional Directors at any given time. Regional Directors receives no compensation other than reasonable reimbursable expenses.  Regional Directors may request sub-contracts or mini-grants for their local organizations to implement Task Force sponsored projects.

Note: Regional Directors may seek assistance from the Administrator to carry out Task Force related projects in their region, i.e. share activities, events, and communication.
